Melting Matters, LLC collects only what we need to make, ship, and support your orders. We don’t sell your information.
1 What We Collect
- Order details. When you buy through a Square checkout link, Square collects your payment details. Square shares your name, email, shipping address, phone number (if you give one), and order details with us so we can fill your order. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages and files. When you contact us by email, text, Facebook, or another platform, we keep what you send, including photos, files, and measurements for custom work. That platform’s own privacy policy also applies to what you share there.
- Website records. Like most websites, our server automatically logs basic technical details: IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. When you check the Terms of Sale box and continue to checkout, we also log that agreement with the time, page, product, and Terms version.
- Cookies. Our website doesn’t set cookies or use analytics or advertising trackers. Square’s checkout pages are run by Square and follow Square’s privacy notice.
2 How We Use It
- to make, ship, and support your order, including custom work, returns, and warranty claims
- to answer your messages and send order updates
- to keep the records we need for taxes, accounting, and legal matters, including payment disputes
- to prevent fraud and keep our website secure
We only send marketing emails if you sign up for them, and each one includes a way to unsubscribe.
3 Who We Share It With
We don’t sell or rent your information or share it for advertising. We share it only with:
- Square, which processes payments and stores order records
- shipping carriers, which need your name, address, and sometimes your phone number to deliver
- companies that host our website and email
- government authorities or others when the law requires it, or when we need to protect our rights, such as in a payment dispute
- a buyer of our business, if it’s ever sold
4 How Long We Keep It
- Order records: up to 7 years, for taxes, warranty claims, and legal matters.
- Server logs and Terms agreements: up to 12 months.
- Messages, photos, and files for custom work: as long as we need them for your order, warranty, or a reorder. Once your order is complete, you can ask us to delete them.
5 Your Choices
Email [email protected] to ask what information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete what we don’t need to keep for legal or tax reasons. We’ll reply within 30 days.
6 Security
Payments are handled by Square, and our website uses HTTPS. We protect the records we keep with reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.
7 Children
Our website isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
8 Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new date. Changes apply from that date.
